Exeter Wheelers Club Bulletin #3

This week:

EWCC Hosts Rounds 12 and 13 of the ‘Cream First’ Crit Series

The Cream First Criterium Series has been supported by British Cycling with races hosted by local clubs across the county. Exeter Wheelers are proud to be hosting Rounds 12 and 13 at Westpoint Arena.

As a member of EWCC you have your race entry fee covered by the club. You will need a race license; if you don’t have one this can be purchased on the night for a small £10 fee. If you are planning to take part, and we’d love to see as many of you there as possible, please don’t sign up in advance via the BC Events page, sign up on the night and your entry fee will be sorted.

Details for Round 12 can be seen at Cream First Crit Series – Round 12 (Exeter Wheelers CC) Events – British Cycling

and

Round 13 can be seen at Cream First Crit Series – Round 13 (Exeter Wheelers CC) Events – British Cycling, but please remember if you are a club member you do not have to sign up via the BC event page.

It is worth noting that the BC event page currently has incorrect details for race options and timings. We understand this is being corrected, but there is no Go-Ride Race, the Open 4s race starts at 7pm and the Open 2/3/4 race is at 8pm.

To allow us to get an idea of numbers and know who is coming along, it would be appreciated if you could use Spond to indicate your intention to ride.

Remember – EWCC members have their race entry fees covered, so come along and enjoy the fun.

Coming up:

*Details for the 10 mile Time Trial series can be found at Evening 10 Mile Time Trial schedule – Exeter Wheelers CC

Looking Forward:

  • 18 October – EWCC Hill Climb, Stoke Hill
  • 15 November – EWCC Cyclo Cross, Escot Park

Finn at the Otley GP

Great to see Finley Webb out flying the EWCC colours again. This time he took the long trip to Yorkshire to ride in the Otley GP on 1 July.

Finn had a good race, but was caught up behind a crash towards the end that ultimately compromised his result.

Rides

Club Rides are going great. If you haven’t been out for a while come and join us.

There are plenty of options, and details of all rides can be seen here.

Devon Air Ambulance Cycle Challenge

If you enjoyed the Nello and want another challenge, whilst raising money for a good cause, why not sigh up for the Devon Air Ambulance Cycle Challenge, taking place on 12 September 2026.

There will be 30, 50 and 100 miles route options.

Cycle Challenge Long Route

Holiday Snaps

Yes, it’s that time of year when we all pack our bags and head of to exotic locations for our holidays.

If you’re taking your bike or just hoping to get out for a sneaky ride whilst the kids are still in bed, send us a picture. The more exotic the location the better (although to be frank if your just popping down to Budleigh we’ll take it!). If you’re in club kit that would be even better.
