Headway Devon - 8th Feb 2010

I am writing to you on behalf of Headway Devon to ask you to let the members of the Exeter Wheelers know about an exciting new fundraising event that we are planning.

High Atlas Traverse is a six day off-road biking tour of the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco. The ride will feature some challenging climbs and thrilling descents as cyclists travel from Ouirgane to the Tichka Pass. On the journey riders will enjoy some stunning scenery and will be able to experience the Moroccan way of life first hand as the trek passes through numerous stone villages.

There will be two treks running in October 2010 – 16th-23rd and 23rd-30th (half-term week).

High Atlas Traverse is a sponsored event to raise money for local people with acquired brain injury. Pariticpants will be asked to raise sponsorship of £1,950 to take part in the trek.

We are also hosting an information evening for anyone who is interested in participating in the challenge. This will take place at Headway Devon’s offices in Exeter on Wednesday 17th February at 6pm. I would encourage anyone interested in taking part in the trek to attend this evening where they will be able to find out more about the trek, meet other volunteers and ask any questions.
