From Exeter Wheelers Cycling Club
With the year's road season rounding up, it gets to the time of the hill climbs!
The Exeter Wheelers hill climb is a mad dash up Stoke Canon Hill.
This year's hill climb (2011) will be Sunday 16th Oct, 11.00, Stoke Canon hill. It is a Come and Try event so anyone can ride.
I believe the course record was set by Colin Lewis in his Tour years and stands at 4:23 on a steel framed bike - although the finish point was slightly earlier.
The usual venue is Stoke Canon Hill off Stoke Road (A396) between Cowley Bridge and Stoke Canon. Refreshments are be provided after the event.
