Course

part of the Devon & Somerset Hill Climb Festival
Part of a great sporting weekend

Stoke Woods is north of Exeter, just off the A396 road to Tiverton. The 1.2 mile (1.9km) climb maintains a steady gradient averaging 7% as it winds its way up through the trees.

The sheltered, wide and smooth stretch of tarmac was included in the finale to stage 5 of the 2014 Tour of Britain, where Sky’s David Lopez covered the course in just under four minutes.

Race HQ

Our headquarters for parking and registration will be the Old Mill Industrial Estate on the A396 (EX5 4RJ), half a mile
from the bottom of the hill.

For the children’s races, a minibus will be available to take riders to the course.

Parking

Competitors may park at the race HQ.

Please note that the HQ has been loaned to us voluntarily and vehicles are parked entirely at your own risk. The HQ owner does not take responsibility for any loss or damage occurring while on the HQ site.

Please note also that access to the course is along a short stretch of main road and we do not recommend walking this. We would advice spectators to park at the top of the hill and walk down.

Spectator Parking

Limited parking is available at the top of the hill (accessed via Wrefords Lane), a short walk from the finish line.

Map

Please note that the kids’ races will be held on the lower half of the hill only.
